Noel Smyth is a performing, songwriting musician originally from a town outside New Haven, CT. He currently plays in and around the Boston area where he also teaches English Language Arts to eighth graders. He just finished his forth solo album, 'Brief Flashes Of Love'; a collection of original material as versatile as his lifestyle. This work includes a vast array of celebrated musicians such as Annie Raines, Steve Sadler, and several others. A deep and full dreadnought acoustic, coupled with a unique, unabashed voice make up the bare essentials needed to carry out his many original tunes. The difficult thing about describing Noel's sound is in its complexity and diversity. One minute he’s mixing an authentic southern twang with foot stomping Irish passion, and the next he’s softly serenading you with sweet sadness. His lyrics tell genuine stories which become immediately relevant for anyone living in 2016. Noel plays with his heart on his sleeve. Without an ounce of pretentiousness, Noel's body language and voice mimic the mood and tone of whichever number he's playing. Whether he's yelling it out during a heartbreaking ballad or smirking through a calm understated tone during a witty bluegrass number, it's all genuine. You wont find any flashy, feigning of desperation; no gimmicks, no overbearing nonsense during a Noel Smyth performance. You'll see the real article.
