Florie Namir is a jazz-pop artist who fuses pre-war American vocal jazz with old-school pop (Beatles, Elton John, etc.). Namir’s songs are sophisticated yet always accessible. A photographer and artist, Namir brings a penchant for capturing snapshots of experiences to her music, describing every day life in a personal way. Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Namir received her PhD in Classical Composition and traveled the world as a classical composer before transitioning to original songwriting. Namir has performed at the Boston Jewish Music Festival (2015), the Mondo.NYC Festival (2016), and has opened for Boston’s premiere singer-songwriter Ruby Rose Fox at Brighton Music Hall (2017). She is currently in the pre-production phase of her first EP, “Memorialist” to be released in April 2018.
