Indie rock legends Death Cab for Cutie are back, minus(for the most part) Chris Walla, with a new album, Kintsugi. The production is lush, the hooks are pure power pop, and the heartfelt earnest lyrics are as ripped from the pages of an affected English major as ever. "No Room in Frame" is classic Death Cab at it's best; "El Dorado" is arena indie pop of the highest order. The band has matured, and they haven't softened at all. Ben Gibbard's sweeping romanticism and quiet desperation is in tact, and thank goodness. The vinyl, CD and cassette tape(!) is on sale at the record shop at Tres Gatos.
